Why Not PO? is an independent supporter-led movement. Contributions support activities organised by the movement; they are not automatically transferred to Peter Obi or the NDC.
How net donations are allocated
After payment processing fees and confirmed refunds, 80% of net donations is allocated to movement-run campaign activities. The remaining 20% is allocated to operations and volunteer support. Allocation is an accounting designation, not an automatic payment or transfer.
80%: campaign activities
Permitted uses include approved outreach, educational and campaign materials, content production, community events, and related movement activities. Each expense must identify its purpose and project.
20%: operations and volunteer support
Permitted uses include hosting, coordination, administration, operational tools, and approved volunteer expenses or stipends. Signing up as a volunteer does not guarantee employment, a stipend, or reimbursement.
Approvals and reporting
One person submits an expense and a different authorised reviewer approves it. Payment evidence and reconciliation are required before publication. The public tracker provides redacted expense evidence and monthly ledger summaries. Donor identities, bank details, and private receipts are restricted.
Fees, refunds, and corrections
Processing fees are recorded separately. Confirmed refunds reduce the original donation and its available allocations. A full refund may leave non-refundable processing costs, which remain visible in the ledger. Approved financial entries are corrected through linked adjustments or reversals rather than silently rewritten.
Unused funds
Unused funds remain in their recorded allocations. Before the movement winds down or materially changes its purpose, organisers must publish a final reconciliation and a proposed disposition consistent with the original purpose and applicable requirements. This memorandum does not authorise an undisclosed personal distribution.
Eligibility and payment status
Donors must provide accurate identifying information, confirm eligibility, and remain within configured aggregate contribution limits. A checkout redirect is not proof of payment: only a server-verified transaction is recorded as successful. Contributions are one-time and do not confer special administrative access or political influence.
International contributions
Diaspora membership and volunteering are open. International fundraising remains disabled until the receiving entity and payment route are confirmed eligible and the relevant configuration is activated.
